Location Inspiration: GEORGIA
Nestled at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia offers an unparalleled blend of diverse landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture, making it a prime destination for film and production companies. FPS, a leading production company in Georgia, invites you to explore the unique advantages of shooting in this captivating country.
A Tapestry of Unique Locations
Georgia's varied topography provides an array of stunning backdrops for any production. From the serene Black Sea beaches to the majestic peaks of the Caucasus Mountains, and from charming remote villages to bustling urban centers, Georgia's versatility is unmatched. The country's small size and efficient transportation infrastructure make it easy to traverse, allowing for a wide range of locations to be accessed quickly and conveniently.
Top Locations in Georgia:
Tbilisi: The capital city boasts a mix of beautiful European and Soviet architecture, offering a diverse urban landscape. Its popularity as a filming location is unmatched, with its historical sites and modern high-rise buildings providing a perfect backdrop for various scenes.
Kazbegi: Known for its breathtaking mountain scenery, Kazbegi is a favorite among filmmakers seeking dramatic and awe-inspiring natural landscapes.
Batumi: This coastal city combines beautiful beaches with an old town charm, making it ideal for projects requiring both seaside and historical settings.
Ideal Shooting Conditions
Georgia enjoys a continental European climate, with the best shooting conditions from March to late November. This period offers mild weather, making outdoor shoots comfortable and predictable.
Simplified Permitting and Visas
Georgia’s liberal visa policy allows citizens of 98 countries to enter without the need for a visa or residence permit, streamlining the planning process for international productions. Additionally, permits for filming, including road closures, are processed swiftly, ensuring minimal delays.
Robust Production Infrastructure
Georgia’s infrastructure is well-suited to support large productions. High-level camera equipment and kits are readily available, and any additional gear can be quickly sourced from our Turkish branch. Skilled local crews, efficient set construction services, and a versatile talent pool further enhance Georgia’s appeal as a filming destination.
Cost Advantages
Georgia offers competitive production costs, with set construction being particularly affordable. The country also provides a tax rebate of up to 30% for feature film productions, adding significant financial incentives for choosing Georgia.
Cultural Richness and Hospitality
Georgia is renowned for its warm hospitality. The locals are friendly and engaging, providing a welcoming environment for international crews. The country’s rich cultural heritage, particularly its ancient winemaking tradition, offers unique experiences that can enrich any production.
Insider Tips:
Accommodation: We recommend staying in Tbilisi, with top choices including the Marriott Tbilisi and Mercure Old City, both of which offer excellent locations and production logistics.
Dining and Nightlife: Explore the vibrant Old Town and Mtatsminda for local bars and restaurants. Chugureti’s Davit Agmashenebeli Avenue is bustling with cafes and wine cellars, while the green neighborhoods of Vera and Vake offer cozy dining spots. Freedom Square is another hub of culinary delights and artisanal beverages.
Dos and Don’ts
While in Georgia, it’s important to be mindful of the local sentiment regarding the ongoing occupation of 20% of the country by Russia. A pro-Russian attitude may not be well received. On a lighter note, don’t miss the opportunity to savor Georgian wines, a significant part of the country’s cultural identity.
Experience the Best of Georgia
From its stunning landscapes and efficient production infrastructure to its rich cultural experiences and cost-effective solutions, Georgia stands out as a premier destination for film and production companies. With FPS at your side, you’ll have the expertise and support needed to make the most of what this remarkable country has to offer.

Memorable Projects
Our biggest project to date was a six-day Swarovski commercial with Bruno Aveillan. We also took great pride in working on "Postcard from Earth," directed by Darren Aronofsky.
Funniest Moment on Set
Fifteen years ago, an amusing situation arose when a US director requested organic chicken for our wrap barbecue in Turkey. Organic food wasn't widely known then, so a PA drove two hours to a village to buy a chicken prepared for barbecue. He was very touched, but ultimately didn’t eat much!
Producer’s Best Attribute
Our founder’s calm demeanor and exceptional communication skills set the tone for FPS. Explaining everything patiently and clearly is a hallmark of our approach, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
Commitment to Sustainability and Diversity
At FPS, we cherish diverse perspectives and respect different views, learning from each unique experience. We are committed to protecting nature and embracing our role as world citizens.
Challenges and the Future of Film
The advertising industry faces shrinking budgets and inflation affecting crew and equipment rates. However, we are confident that these challenges are temporary and that the industry will prevail. Contrary to many views predicting its decline, film remains strong and vital. We believe in the enduring power of film, now more than ever.
